Whale Beach House by Alex Popov in Australia

Whale Beach House is the one of contemporary beach house in Australia, located at the southern end of Whale Beach, between the main road and the beach. About the location, its characteristics and its history are part of the emotive connections that form a sense of place and context. Facing due east, the site falls away approximately 7 metres from the road to the eastern boundary and is flanked on both sides by brick- and-tile residences of a larger scale. Designed by Alex Popov & Associates, this project articulates the idea of a modernist approach to the peninsula’s traditional concept of a beach side dwelling. Architecture and physical location have always been inseparable from one another.

Kimizuka Architects in Japan house

O House is the Tokyo house in Japan was designed by Kimizuka Architects to reduce noise and increase privacy. The modern contemporary design is the three-story timber house for a family with two small children. The O House site is situated near a busy main road in Tokyo and is surrounded by small offices and homes. To ensure privacy and noise reduction, large polished plaster walls set off first. Then cut out openings for natural light, wind, saw the sky and the garden next door. The main area, which consists of the living, dining room, kitchen and studio, is guaranteed on the first floor and is open to a private terrace surrounded by plaster walls and louvers. Second floor, the white box under the sliding of the mass, is the solution to reduce the impact to neighboring sites because of the shadow and volume.

This round building, topped with a high alang-alang roof, houses one bedroom and its own private ensuite open-air bathroom.
The queen-sized bed is cover with brilliant batik linens, adding a spice of color to the room. A large day bed is ideal for a mid-day siesta, or to put a child to rest. Flourishing rice fields and a blooming lotus garden offert a wonderful view from the private terrace.
